Mike is a native to the North Texas area. He was born and raised predominantly in Greenville Texas, he moved to Royse City first after high school and eventually to Rockwall in early adulthood to raise his two sons. He is an active leader in his community and especially at The Quest Church in Royse City, Texas where he has found renewed passion for
serving Christ after a long hiatus from church while lost chasing the "American dream" and the dollar. He grew up in the church before getting side tracked even singing in the adult choir from 13-18 years old at the home church of his youth Wesley United Methodist in Greenville, Tx. He is very well known throughout the martial arts community especially in the Brazilian jiu-jitsu world where he has competed and trained on four different continents to date and is an active CBJJ / IBJJF competitor for the NS Brotherhood team out of Sao Paulo Brazil. It was founded by his friend and arguably the best jiu-jitsu fighter in the world today and possibly ever Leandro Lo. He is very active in mission work and loves to combine his two passions missions and jiu-jitsu by holding seminars while abroad serving to reach the youth of other countries by opening doors for local pastors previously not able to get access to them with the draw of mixed martial arts, self defense and jiu-jitsu.
